Claudio Da Rold
Gartner
VP & Chief of Research - IT Services & Sourcing
Claudio Da Rold is a Vice President and Distinguished Analyst in Gartner Research, as well as the Gartner Chief of Research for IT Services and Sourcing. His coverage includes two related areas: bimodal and adaptive sourcing strategies within client organizations (how to achieve business objectives by leveraging outsourcing and external services) and IT services market industrialization and digitalization (how the service market evolves, and how this impacts service providers and their business and delivery models). In the first area, Mr. Da Rold is an expert on bimodal and adaptive sourcing strategies and models, including joint ventures and consortia; has developed approaches for building an adaptive sourcing strategy encompassing IT and business process services; and has supported the decision-making process for sourcing strategies in major organizations across Europe and internationally. Currently, his focus is on rapid digital business transformation, bimodal IT and the enablement of digital business models through layered, adaptive sourcing strategies. In the second area, Mr. Da Rold anticipated the outsourcing and service market industrialization trend, and he drove the research on infrastructure utility services (IUS) and on industrialized low-cost services (ILCS). Currently, he's exploring the transformation required by the digital economy. From a European research perspective, he has a leading role in the European Magic Quadrants for data center outsourcing and infrastructure utility service, help desk outsourcing, and desktop outsourcing. In Mr. Da Rold's new role of Gartner Chief of Research for IT Services and Sourcing, his scope is to increase the Gartner value at the edge between different research agendas and specifically across sourcing for innovation, IT sourcing and demand-driven value networks and supply chain, and industrialized IT delivery.
