Salil Parekh

CEO Application Services - United Kingdom, North America, Asia-Pacificnand Global Financial Services

Salil Parekh is the CEO of the Application Services Strategic Business Unit (SBU) of Capgemini
that includes North America, United Kingdom, the Financial Services (FS) business unit globally,
and local business units in India and Australia. This SBU spans across 12 countries, and has over
27,000 employees. Salil is also a member of the Group’s Operations Committee.
Salil was a partner serving financial services clients in New York at Ernst & Young LLP prior to the
merger of its consulting business with Capgemini in 2000. He is a founding member of Capgemini
India and was the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Capgemini India in 1998. In 2002, he became
Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Capgemini’s Asia/Pacific business. In 2004, he was appointed
head of Capgemini’s global Technology Services discipline based in the UK. In 2005, he was part
of the team that executed the restructuring of the North America business first as COO and then as
CEO from the US. In 2007, Salil moved to India as the Chairman of Capgemini India to help with
the integration of Kanbay and the industrialization of the Group. He was also the CEO of the SBU
comprising of global Financial Services business the Asia/Pacific business, and the offshore
delivery centers in India, until the end of 2010.
Salil has worked directly with clients in the Financial Services industry (Goldman Sachs, J. P.
Morgan Chase, and Merrill Lynch), Life Sciences (Johnson & Johnson), Retail (Marks &
Spencer’s), and Manufacturing (Hewlett Packard, Lafarge, and Phillips).
Salil has a Masters degree in Computer Science and Mechanical Engineering from Cornell
University, and a Bachelors degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the Indian Institute of
Technology, Mumbai.
